thru 4 games this year it seems like we have given up more deep passes than all of last year. i knew losing peavy and payne would hurt but i didnt think it would have been quite as much.

anyone else see this as a issue going forward with the teams coming up on our schedule?
 
Its going to be a problem. Our starting CBs are very very young. With the last year of Rhoads recruits we are starting to see the youth in CMC's recruiting. I'm not saying thats a bad thing, its just besides our lines, our team is very young.

One aspect that may help would be better pressure and contain from the front 7.

Many secondaries are going to get beat if the QB is able to stand back there and pat the ball like a backyard game or isn't contained.

ISU's strength of their front 7 in times when they've screwed up good QBs has been that they kept things in front, took strong angles, stayed in their lanes, etc. and I don't think that's been very strong this season.

It's still earlyish....we'll see what this next week brings.
