While a loss is never good, I'll say that the Saints losing this game was not a bad thing for them.
That is the only bad thing about the Saints loss. It opens the door for the Vikings to get home field advantage. Of course, after watching tonight's game, I believe the Vikes are clearly the best team in the NFC. Saints defense looks very, very vulnerable. Vikes are better on both sides of the ball.

N.O. finally dug a hole they couldn't dig out off. The finish was more N.O. running out of time than Dallas winning it. Enjoy this Cowboy fans because this is where it ends.
The Saints were damn lucky that Folk missed another field goal, otherwise the game would have had no drama. Dallas was clearly the better team in this game from start to finish. Saints could not stop the Cowboys offense and ball control. I think they exposed weaknesses with the Saints on both sides of the ball.
Remember, the Saints were down Bush and Shockey on offense as well as missing some key players on defense. The team that Minnesota would see in the playoffs should be a little more complete.
Saints still have to lose one more, and the Vikings have to win out.
Vikings pass defense will continue to get shredded into the playoffs. The only thing they can do that most teams can't is control any running game in the NFL with their front 4 and drop 7 in coverage without sacrificing run support. Vikings have the best running back in the NFL yet no idea how to use him, and now their offensive line is banged up.
sorry, chris johnson fully has proven himself as the best running back in nfl. Hes faster, he has better hands, and he doesnt fumble:biglaugh:
Q: Did Drew Brees get his mole removed? I'm watching SportsCenter and it looks like he has a f=red line where the mole was. This is not important but I suppose that mole may have held all his football powers... he is 5'9" 150lbs. Just wondering if I missed something on this.
How can you say clearly? This was the Saints first loss all season. How soon you forget the egg that the Vikings laid in Phoenix? Not to mention that injuries may start playing a factor for them shortly.
Not saying you cannot make the argument, but 'clearly' the best is a complete stretch.
