Is there a video of his route? I was watching the whole play and it looked like Park was throwing the ball away. Next thing I knew, Daley grabs it and scores. The DB had no clue what he was doing.

Daley ran a deep out and up. Park threw it pretty much right when Daley cut out towards the sideline. That ball was in the air a long time to let Daley run underneath it. Completely faked out the DB covering him. It was a great anticipation throw.

That pass was a beauty! It came down to timing and just believing in his receiver. When he first threw it I was thinking he was just throwing it away. Then the down and out turned into a down out and up and it was right on the money. He throws a good ball.

When I saw him throw it I thought it was a miscomunnication, then I saw the receiver running under the ball. Perfect execution on all ends

It's one of those plays that you look like an idiot on if there is a safety with underneath coverage, but I agree with the postered above, great play and something we are use to see other teams do to ISU. Daley made it a little more exciting by not catching cleanly and falling down. Pretty much a perfect pass in that situation.

If you watched Park closely, you could tell he was comfortable throwing to the receivers. We ran the same 8 yard out route to Epps 3 times in a row and everytime Park threw the ball before the receiver was looking and when the receiver looked the ball was there. However, the third time it was almost picked because the CB figured it out. lol

I wish they had faked it the third time and turned it into a go route, as that CB bit hard the third time.

agreed, and just before that third time, I said this time they will go over the top after the pump fake. Nope, instead it was almost a pick6

That's what I told my wife too. I said "we've run the same play 2 times in a row, now run it again but pump fake and Epps go up the field."

Agree, I was waiting for the pump and go. Also, he threw a couple outs early in the 2nd half that were more closely defended.

Hopefully as Jacob continues to develop, he learns how to better manipulate the defense with his eyes. He largely knows where he's going with the ball, so move the back 7 defenders away and out of position before you throw it. As great of arm strength and timing as he has, he can't continue to stare down where he's going. Won't work vs better teams. But aside from that I have no complaints. He stands tall and confident in the pocket, also has patience, and it appears he can throw lasers and lobs throughout the field. It's very early, but I don't think I've seen an ISU passer of his caliber since Seneca. And Seneca was a different type of passer, much better on the run than in the pocket.

Way too early to compare him to SW but he is looking better. He doesn't appear to be looking off defenders though. I imagine as time goes and he gets back into the flow he will be better with progression. THAT is an exciting thought.

Looking off defenders is something he isn't doing yet once he locks on. He does stand tall back there while surveying the field very nicely however and seemingly on the money with his throws consistently. I like him better than Lanning. However once he broke loose on that long run he seemed a little unsure of himself like WTF do I do now. :)
