Hypothetical here. Say Oklahoma beats OSU this weekend. That puts Oklahoma into contention for the playoffs. Now let's say Oklahoma wins every game the rest of the season EXCEPT lose in Norman to the Cyclones. Now the Cyclones win all their games, 12-0 baby. If there is a conference title game then Iowa State wins this too. Does this now put Iowa State into playoff talks?

Sorry. I couldn't help it.

To answer the question: any P5 team that goes 13-0-- no matter what the name on their jersey is-- is going to the playoff. Period.

Why make it so complicated? If Iowa State goes 13-0, they are in. Iowa State is not going 13-0.

I remember my first beer........

I'll go as far and say an Iowa st team that wins the big12 championship at 12-1 would have very very good (like 75%+) odds of being the final 4. Almost any power 5 team would.
