After a tournament with upsets and surprises the four 1 seeds have cruised to the final four.

Voting is open for the Final Four of the Cyclone Fanatic Sitcom Tournament

How to vote (this will apply to all rounds):
  • To select the favorite (the show seeded highest), choose the Heart emoji.
  • To select the underdog, choose the Rainbow emoji.
No other emojis will be counted.

Deadline to vote: Now through Thursday at 7 PM

Final Four is much more exciting than Elite 8 so far. But do have 4 amazing shows doing battle with each other.

Despite all of the bickering (my own included) about seeding and shows included, this is a testament to the thought put into it. Bravo!

Now, that said, I love The Office, but c'mon.... Seinfeld is the greatest sitcom ever made and it isn't particularly close.
Both are awesome. I based my vote on which one eventually jumped the shark. You could argue that both did in some way, but i think The Office fizzled badly in the last two seasons.

That's a big part of it. Both shows got off to slow starts, but The Office would've benefitted from an earlier exit. Seinfeld's finale has it's issues, but was still (generally) solid in it's last season.

But the bigger factor to me is that the "highs" of Seinfeld can't be matched. Few things have ever made me keel over laughing quite like Kramer walking back through Jerry's door, slamming his money down on the counter and saying "I'm out!"

Something I didn't think to do prior to this round: Networks

Final four has
NBC vs. NBC
CBS vs. NBC

(edit):
"Modern Family" and "Home Improvement" were the final ABC shows alive in the tournament.
Expanding on that details, here's Sitcom Tournament Sweet 16 by network. (I think all should be accurate). Only three outside of "Big 3" and only one "cable."

NEW YORK
1. Seinfeld (NBC)
5. How I Met Your Mother (CBS)
6. The Wonder Years (ABC)
2. Modern Family (ABC)

SCRANTON
1. The Office (NBC)
5. The Andy Griffith Show (CBS)
3. Happy Days (ABC)
10. Parks and Recreation (NBC)

KOREA
1. M*A*S*H (CBS)
5. Married ... with Children (FOX)
3. Arrested Development (FOX)
7. Gilligan's Island (CBS)

BOSTON
1. Cheers (NBC)
4. Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO)
6. Home Improvement (ABC)
2. Taxi (ABC)

If I had a test with only a few seconds to take I would of only had 10 of 16 right. Most the incorrect coming from the early shows that were ahead of my time.

Also is this the big 3 are pretty evenly split in number of shows making it this far. No network aka conference running away in this.

I don't care for the office. Can't stand 90% of the cast.

I watch Seinfeld and like it, because I love Larry David's writing. I absolutely hate Jerry Seinfeld though.
