Yes and it seems everytime we play a team someone has a career night. I believe we play ND or NDST in basketball and one of there players scored 60 in a game, and they still lost.
Final total votes: 456,660 - 443,091 in favor of Cy. I believe that means we won the final week by 13,510 votes.
My, how technology changes... Last year, we won the CBS poll with a vote total around what, 5 million? CapOne putting that captcha in to the voting process really slowed everything down a lot!
A total of $10,000 for the Mascot Squad. $5000 for being selected, an additional $5000 for winning the competition. And informally a little good publicity, which obviously we can't get enough of.
I think Jeremy said something about giving us all credits. Or at least those of us with sweet Ditka avatars.

Thank god Iowa is not in the Capital One (should be called Citrus Bowl) game, otherwise they would be throwing all of their shoes at us when we are announced the winner.
Winning another competition like this is saying something. It may say we have too much time on our hands, but I say it shows we have a good sized, passionate fan base that has now one two of these types of polls. I don't really care how insignificant this is in comparison to success on the field of play, right now we don't have it, so any good publicity for ISU during a bowl season in which we are not participating is a good thing.
Now let's hope the 2nd good piece of publicity during bowl season is our coaching hire.
