I was just watching cy-hawk talk. I can not be more upset with dease. They were talking about who has the advantage and at every single position deace said IOWA. I don't care if they do have the advantage, if you are the ISU voice on cy-hawk talk you have to at least give ISU the advantage at one position. I think ISU has an advantage at receiver and linebacker. Post your thoughts, am I a ISU homer, or does ISU deserve some cred at at least a couple positions?

Truly, the only position I thought he may have said ISU has the advantage in is the punter. MAYBE QB or linebacker, but probably not.

Nothing wrong with what he said.

I think we have a slight advantage at WR, but because Meyer can't get them the ball, it doesn't really matter. IMO, if you have a great QB and horrible WRs, or vice versa, and your opponent is solid at both, they get the advantage by virtue of utilization.

I would say we have the advantage at punter as well. No other position. Thats why an upset will be fun.

I really think that we have some good receivers, we are do for an offensive outburst. We have all the parts in place, it is just a mater of making it work, if that makes any sense?

Id say ISU has the advantage over the Hawgeyes at WR and possibly DB. LB might be a push. Their LB's are big, but ours are faster. I'd also take Brandtner over their frosh punter.

Our linebackers are faster? Bowen is fast. Banks has ok speed. But Jesse Smith is real slow.

I could see the argument for DB being a push or in ISU's favor.

Ronnie was just pretty funny though.

"The Hawkeye fans are the only fanbase in America that would argue that a blow-out of Syracuse, the worst D-III team in nation, a legitimate reason for a BCS bowl bid. Even Chizik is watching the Iowa/Syracuse tape saying 'these orangemen suck.'"

I don't care what our chances realisticlly are, I am going to the game saturday expecting a win. I am one of a few die hard ISU fans that don't hold ISU season tickets. My wife and I did, but the we had our first daughter and we decided to wait to buy tickets until she can run around on the grass seats. We do have my dad's tickets for the ISU vs. EIU game. BORN ISU BLEED ISU!!! I am kind of disappointed in the lack of confidence that everyone has in ISU. I can't wait til' ISU wins and I can rub it in everyones face.

Deace or any other "representative" of any team isn't obligated to automatically pick in favor of his team. It's not a crime to be objective. Doesn't mean he's right, he's just calling it like he sees it.

I know deace is just picking it like he thinks everthing will play out, but if I were him, I would at least put ISU in favor in at least 1 position. It is almost like he is scared to predict ISU. Who can blame him with the way they have played? But, I am and ISU fan that will believe that they can realisticly beat Texas and OU. That is why they play the games, if it were decided after the first two weeks, the season would not be 11 weeks long. I am not saying that they will go 9-2 but I think that we will be competitive no mater what team we play.

It's time for everyone to step up. If we play mistake free football(no fumbled punts, Bret playing like the Bret of the Independence Bowl freshman year) then we will win. No might or could win....We will win. Frankly Iowa's not that good, that helps our cause.

Can you say, first real road game for Jake Christenson.

I can't wait.

wow you think isu lbs are better?

Klinkenborg led Big 10 in tackles, made huge crucial tackles, i know Bowen made alot but are they crucial game saving or game changing? Edds is huge and fast, Humpal healthy and playing right position this yr. Sorry their lbs are better. WR to isu but as stated ,that dont mean much when not properly used.

What do you expect? Deace is one of those de-facto ISU fans because he grew up a Michigan fan and then moved to Iowa. Being a Michigan fan, he couldn't very well like the other Big 10 team so he went for ISU.

I was a little upset at Deace making it sound on Monday like there was all this in-fighting going on in the program. Several other journalists that are with the team more than Deace say that it's not true.

As far as the game goes on Saturday, I'm expecting a win. If they don't, I'll be very disappointed.

Anybody else think we should make Drew Tate an honorary guest at all Cyclone-Hawkeye football games, then recreate his concussion with a reenactment of his "throw an interception, then ram my head into the opposing player" play? Man I miss that guy.

I think it would be a great way to fire the team up before kickoff, and beats the heck out of "Sweet Caroline".
