For me ..the worst part of this series is their idiot loud mouth fans and their Hawkster adoring media. I think I can now see why we didn't play Iowa for decades. I vote let's beat Iowa this Fall so as to hear the sweet sound of silence from Hawkster fanbase and their media shills.

Really not revenge since they forfeited last year. However, the asswhoop'n about to be dished out is going to be glorious!
I would love to shut up their yapping fans. If they happen to win, they will be crazy obnoxious. Beating our supposed best team ever...kind of like what we did in 2002. Iowa has not had a single turnover against ISU since 2014. We are due for that to change. IMO ISU is better at pretty much every single position group. A few (OL, DB, K/P) are a push at worst. There is no reason why we should lose this game and on paper, this should be a 2TD win. But ISU needs to play a clean game for once and it wouldn't hurt if iowa made a mistake or two.
Even years when we have won they claim if we played at end of year, they would have beat us.

We need to be honest. I dislike hawk fans as well. However, their football team has been better than ours the past 5 years....and they may still be. Ferentz has a system that works. Control the clock, dominate the line of scrimmage, no turnovers, run the ball. They also are traditionally stronger physically than us. Look at how many NFL players they have produced...it really is quite impressive.
The hawks have beaten us in every sport for the past several years, and in wrestling for decades. We make fun of Barta, but in all honesty his coaches / programs have kicked our butt's.

We were better than Iowa last year by quite a bit and will be this year. We were also better in 2017

I still want revenge for the '77 game and all the crap we had to go through just to get the games. I want an ass whooping similar to the '78 game. For the youngsters that don't want to "alexa-it" the score was 31-0 the good guys.
You are technically correct. Our men's basketball program fell apart during that period..for our Twister Sisters those games were down to the wire..football much the same ... wrestling = who cares/ dying sport. Barta runs a sloppy program with historical legal problems ... if Barta had faced real Iowa journalistic scrutiny ..he'd be long gone by now. As their idol Fry once said, "the worm turns" and this time it will be Iowa State.
If ISU loses it will be a failure. They are Big 12 favorites and CFP favorites at this point. They have like 8 super seniors returning to win the Big 12 and make the final 4. Anything else is a failure.
Iowa is ranked preseason top 15. this isn't some walk-in-and-win situation.
If we struggle with the purple hawks again we should have a pretty good idea of how September plays out
I get your probably already posturing in the event you lose but Oklahoma is the favorite. But I agree with failure in a loss.
