Curtis Shaw new Big 12 Coordinator of Officials - Men's Basketball

Curtis Shaw is a great referee. Anyone who has officiated (and knows what they are talking about) would agree.

Could have been worse - it could have been Ed Hightower...

I don't have an opinion on Shaw.

How about that horses patoot Paul Janssen? Do you like him too, just asking

The guy that screwed up in the Kansas 2 shot foul layup game...remember him. Even last weeks Misouri game was an excellent example of why the radio announcers said that "he should not be allowed to do any ISU games. That he might be a nice guy in life but he was a lousy referee." That's what was a direct quote on the radio.

Agreed. People need to get out of the mindset that every official is out to screw their team. The majority of them do a fine job and if you think you could do better, prove it. "You think you know, but you don't know."

Curtis Shaw only called the UNC-Mich St. NCAA title game last year.
Which means the coaches, as well as fellow officials, thought Shaw, along Tom O'Neill and Tony Greene, were considered the top three refs in the country.

I'm going to have to go back and look at the Elite 8 game in 2000 again. I don't remember the last few minutes of that game being well officiated. It seemed at the time as soon as Izzo got his technical the officials were afraid of making the anointed team's coach angry.

I will try to find time to watch it again before I comment any further.

I'm curious, Tornado man, do you as an official believe that Ed Hightower is one of the best? He seems to get anointed that a lot by the media when working games. I honestly want a zebra's opinion on that...
