Cubs/Orioles Talks getting serious

Maybe things with DeRosa aren't as good as they stated. I know they have wanted Roberts, but if DeRosa is worse off than advertised that could be why they have stepped it up.

The Cubs suck.

Just wanted to get it in there before the haters made there way into the thread.

I really don't understand why the Cubs organization is so hell bent on making this trade.

I think that D-ro is a GREAT option at second with Fotenenot backing him up.

I don't see this as making the Cubs any better, no matter what you give up.

I agree, especially becaue d ro is young and could be huge in coming years.

You don't see how an all star 2nd baseman can make this team better? Not to mention he is a leadoff hitter which would help this team out in more ways than one. It would allow Soriano to move down in the order where he belongs, giving us a much more potent lineup. IMO, if we make this trade the Cubs will have a top 3 offense in the NL.

True leadoff hitter...enough said

Okay... Soriano's numbers have always suffered when he is moved out of the leadoff spot. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

We will have plenty of offense without Roberts...

1) Soriano
2) Fukudome
3) Lee
4) Rami
5) Soto
6) Derosa
7) Pie
8)Theriot

soriano isn't a leadoff hitter tho. yeah he can hit home runs, and that is always a factor when he steps in the box, however i'd rather have him batting 3rd w/ roberts leading off/

if roberts is aquired, i'd like to see.

1)Roberts-2B
2)Fukudome-RF
3)Soriano-LF
4)Aramis-3B
5)D-Lee-1B
6)Soto-C
7)Pie-CF
8)Theriot-SS
9)Pitcher slot

however, i'd rather see theriot batting 9th with the pitcher batting 8th. that way you have 2 leadoff hitters

or

1)Roberts-2B
2)Theriot-SS
3)Soriano-LF
4)Aramis-3B
5)Fukudome-RF
6)D-Lee-1B
7)Soto-C
8)Pie-CF
9)Pitcher slot
