I'm fine with this as long as he starts at least 5 days a week. He can't just sit on the bench and get a spot start like Colvin.
Who cares?
I agree with the OP--this is pretty hasty.
Sounds like Castro will be the man at short and Theriot will be the man at second with Fontenot backing him up.
I know Castro is great, but I'm not sure this move is going to fix the problems the Cubs are having offensively. Hope I wrong and he provides a constant spark. Maybe he can remind Ramirez how to hit the ball?

If they are going to have Fontenot and Baker on the bench, it might be worthwhile to get another reliever for one of those two, especially when Z goes back to the rotation which I think is inevitable.
If you're going to trade someone, it should be Theriot. He is going to have the best value out of all those guys. You aren't going to get much of anything if you trade either Baker or Fontenot.

He has the best value in a trade because he has proven value to the club. I really believe if they trade TheRiot they will regret it down the road. It will come up every time a middle infielder struggles at the plate for the next ten years.
Who cares?
I do.
