MLB: Cubs Begin Search for New Radio Analyst

Several ex-Cubs-turned-analysts fill the bill, including Mark Grace, Rick Sutcliffe, Dan Plesac, Eric Karros, Gary Matthews and Mitch Williams.

Grace would be awesome and I enjoy listening to Sutcliffe and Karros. Mitch Williams is OUTSTANDING on the MLB network. I've never heard Gary Matthews do anything related to broadcasting so I can't offer an opinion there. For some reason, I can't stand Plesac.

Pat Hughes is a great pbp guy so I hope they can match him up with somebody that he has good chemistry with. Santo was pretty bad as far as a typical color man goes, but his emotion and the repoir (sp?) he had with Pat made them a great team.

While I'm a Cards fan, I've got a soft spot for the Cubs since my family is all Cubs fans and I can listen to them in my office in the summer. I hope they get somebody good.

Lou Boudreau and Vince Lloyd will never be topped.
It takes someone willing to have a complete detachment from the carnage on the field.
