Hold on to your butt folks, this Criner/Walden-like team will be humbled all the way to the end. It will be an awful experience for fans, players and coaches, we must be resilient. What choice do we have? Those who predicted wins over Baylor and Missouri should now realize that your predications were ridiculous. This team is not Big 12 quality, which is now painfully obvious. This team is truly Criner/Walden–like. They will be humiliated by aTm, TT, OSU, OU, and KSU. I can't even imagine what the scores of those games will be. If they give up 52 to Missouri, what is in store from they rest. Yikes it is going to be a blood bath. So get real folks, it is going to be awful so don’t sugar coat the rest of the year. You can’t polish a turd. No more crazy optimism.

Hopefully, the team can at least be competitive…well no that won't happen, how about a victory over Kansas? Maybe that will happen.

CPR is a great guy, I’m glad he is the coach, but unless he is able to dramatically improve recruitment and get more talented players and more player depth his tenure at ISU will be as painful and frustrating as Criner and Walden.

We are Big 10 quality...no?

or better yet the first-four-years of McCarney years (1995-1998) plus 2003 which was worse than the other two coaches especially 1995 and 1997 Nebby & KSU games and almost all conf games in 2003.

I am not sure of the injury situation but they need to get this team ready to go again. I am starting to think that the bye in the fourth week is turning out to be a very very bad thing. All momentum the team had, though very shaky, has been completely blown away.

Calm down, calm down. I sat through 4 years of Jim Walden teams and we are not that bad, believe me. Those were the days when they used to blast off the cannon every time we got a FIRST DOWN in some games.

Walden's teams could move the football. They were good there and on special teams. His defenses were another story.

True indeed, and usually good for at least one decent upset at least until the end. Ah, for "the eel" and Jeff Shudak. The good old days...

Frankly, outside of 1999 and maybe 2005, I'm not sure we've ever been heads & shoulders above Walden's teams. We've been a little better, particularly on D, but not to the extent that most people claim.

The B12 for much of the 2000's has been weaker than the B8/B12 was in the 90's. Add in a 12th non-conference game to water your schedule down even more, and you have your 6-6 seasons, that we consider such a success at ISU.

Wow. Thanks for the pep talk, Debbie Downer . Yesterday was awful, but there's still a lot of season left. And don't forget that the best moments in the CPR era have come when expectations were nil.

This is called inconsistant. When you break it down we are a bad football team. With NFL talent at LB and in the secondary you'd think they'd be able to scheme a bit different. At least enough to not give up 600 yards. Or how about this, don't let Agnew drag 3 defenders 26 yards before bringing him down.

Good lord calm down. The sun came up today. This isn't the first *** kicking I remember. The offense couldn't stay on the field. The defense was poorly prepared. Stop the Big Ten comparisons it makes us sound like whiney losers. We pay CPR to run the show lets see if he is up to the task.

Last week Texas got blown out by OU and yesterday Baylor got blown out by A&M.

We are much better than those ISU teams of the 80s and early 90s.

I didn't get to see yesterday's game against Mizzou but I'm wondering if perhaps Jantz is still hurting from the blows he took in the UConn game. It took Kurt Warner a couple of seasons to bounce back from nagging injuries he sustained with the Rams. Jantz is a youngster so hopefully he can bounce back much quicker.

Jantz looks like he might be hurt to me. He has nothing on his passes, accuracy is really bad. Maybe that is all the better he is, but he looks hurt or confused to me.

It can't help when you have to make almost every pass while back pedaling and running for your life.

Put that with no big rushing attack and it doesn't take long to figure out how to stop our offense.

I love it when White gets a big run but it takes about 20 little runs of less than 2 yards to get one to pop off.

so it doesn't make it any different from any year since the 1970's.

It might be being hurt or it might be just the speed of Big XII defenses as opposed to our non conference schedule. Hopefully it is the latter and he'll make strides in teh next few games as he gets used to them.
