Just read about the Texas Tech scrimmage on the ESPN blog and saw that Cqulin Hubert had a good game. Sucks that we lost him or we would be looking really good at LB.

What happened:
Junior quarterback Seth Doege threw for 317 yards and four touchdown on 20-of-35 passing. He also had an interception for the only turnover of the day, picked off by Daniel Cobb, who returned it 22 yards.
Safety D.J. Johnson and linebacker Cqulin Hubert led the team with eight tackles each. Hubert had a sack and led the team with 2.5 tackles for loss. He also broke up a pass.

I would say we are already looking really good at LB

How about better! No offense George has not done anything so far, which he very well could and neither has toufoo (sp). It might also had helped to have him last year when we were playing an undersized walkon. He is listed 6'2 235 and will be a true sophmore.

All I'm saying is it wouldn't hurt to have him. Im just as excited about the guys we have been bringing in but they have not done anything as of right now. Will they maybe? But this is a guy we had until the last minute that will probably be starting for Tech.

Ummm...neither has Hubert.

We already look pretty good at linebacker. Matter of fact, Wally said that Jevohn Miller is a natural middle linebacker, with potential somewhere between that of Klein and Knott.

And yet he's working at weakside linebacker, because George is backing up Tau'fo'ou.

So Hubert can enjoy Lubbock. And try to tackle Johnson, Woody, Hollis, White, Nealy etc the next few years.

It'd be funny if CPR went 4-0 against Tech while Hubert was there.

I was disappointed we didn't get Hubert and feel we would have had an even better group of LB's with him on board. But I think that we are still really good there. And that LB is a strength on our defense. I thank God everyday that Rhoads was able to keep AJ Klein as a commit and add Jake Knott as a late recruit in his first year. Knott was a helluva pickup and had basically no other D-1 offers. That shows what an inexact science recruiting is.

Not trying to get into an argument but it wouldnt hurt to have him on our team. I also hope that we beat Tech the next 3 years and he never beats ISU. If anything Rhoads and staff have a eye for LB talent.

I would like to have him, but wouldn't he be on the DLine here? IRRC, we were going to move him to DE.

The loss of Hubert did sting at the time, but we have had a recruiting cycle to make up for it. The worst thing was that TTU wasn't even looking at him until the last week before the signing period. I think most of their recruits don't even visit Lubbock. That town is a hole in the ground. You would never have convinced me to go to school there.
