Had the pleasure of hearing him speak in person a few weeks ago at the lumber convention in Altoona. The speech was basically the same, just a slightly longer version of what he gave here. I never knew before then that those great locker room speeches had the underlying meaning that they did to the team, and it makes them even more special!

Very cool. Genuine honest. Moving. Only thing cooler would have been to be part of the group that bought in and delivered. Winning a bowl game with a losing team prior was a huge accomplishment, beating Okie State even bigger, still a believer but I will understand if this year is a down year. Takes time and there is no one better for Iowa State.

The coolest thing about this (to me) is that what led me to this video was Lazard tweeting that this was the reason he was coming to Iowa State. CPR is going to start reeling in the big boys, and with the help of players like Lazard it's only going to get easier.

Awesome behind the scenes look at his philosophy on football and his team. I agree with a previous poster, the talent will start to find Ames. Yes, there will always be the flashy guys who want to play for the "big boys" but there are enough young men and their families that appreciate hard work and genuineness.
