Confession time: who didn't watch NBA Finals?

Though I love college basketball, I've never been a huge follower of the NBA. Still, for many years, I would at least watch the playoffs and the Finals, since that is when the quality of the game improves considerably.

This year, even with the compelling matchup between LA and Boston, I didn't catch a single game. Pretty bad for someone that enjoys the sport of basketball, right? I'm curious how that compares with my fellow college bball fans.
 
No confession. I watched 16.4 seconds I was bored out of my mind with that amount of time.
 
Not at all was the closest thing for me. I didn't see any of Games 1-5. I had the game on last night for about 45 minutes - but I was processing images the entire time and was passively watching.

I really like watching basketball - I just can't do the NBA.
 
The NBA game is attrociously slow and boring, and I would sooner watch a Division III non-conference matchup, than a regular season NBA game, but come on, this was Celtics vs. Lakers in the Finals. You have to watch some of it. It doesn't get more classic than that.
 
I don't mind watching the NBA at all, but the length of the playoff games got completely out of control. With the extended timeouts for advertising, games were routinely pushing 3 hours. Way too long for a BB game...
 
I watched every game, but not the whole thing. 8:00 PM starts?
 
Now, I don't watch the NBA ever. Still didn't watch any games. However, I still laugh at people that say Celtics with an "S" sound rather than a "K" sound.

Not sure if your knocking Division III athletics or not, but some of the Division III basketball I've seen the past two years is some great basketball. Players that are truely there playing for the love of the game.
 
I think I glanced at the score a couple of times as I was flipping through the channels. That and what I caught on sportscenter or the news. I just can't stand watching the NBA (or most pro sports for that matter).

Guess watching an NBA broadcast or listening to anyone talk about the basketball team in Boston must be a riot for you then.
 
I find it extremely interesting that we have a message board full of fairly hardcare sports fans here and 24 of 39 people didn't watch the NBA playoffs at all. Old Stern has a lot of work to do with this league. In all honesty, I am not sure what can be done.
 
I thought this would be an entertaining series - it was not. I watched maybe an hour total of all six games. Whenever I tuned in one of the teams was up by 20 or more.

The funny thing is that it's incredibly profitable and financially stable, more fans than ever attend the games, and it's CBR will allow it to be so for a very long time. They need to do better reaching fans in markets in the midwest but I'm not really sure they care about us all that much anyway.

The NBA is a big city game. They couldn't care less about who watches in the midwest. If you look at a US map, it's pretty obvious that David Stern is a strict opponent of the Louisiana Purchase.
