Honestly I can't tell a different. The face changes quite a bit when you smile. It makes him look skinnier, but don't know for sure.

Regardless of the picture, he definitely looked leaner and quicker Friday. I would say he had to have lost at least 15-20 lbs.

I like that, considering he'll mostly be playing the 3.

The first thing that popped into my head when looking at those pictures was this picture:

It's obvious he's shed some pounds. He played with a ton of confidence Friday. I don't know how that will translate because his shot selection wasn't great and he was out of control at times. That said, he has a lot of talent and when playing well, is one of the best on the court. I suspect he will get to play through his lapses this season as we won't have the depth to replace him. That's probably good for a guy like him. He's going to have some monster games.

One of the last vestiges of childhood is the shape of the face. Both Abdul & Matt have shed the last little bits of fullness in their faces, and look to be fully mature physically. Not a slam by any means - some people never lose that last little bit, and they look like teenagers well into their thirties & forties - we refer to them as "baby faced" (Jimmy Fallon, for example).

Physically, they've both changed quite a bit from when we first saw them...all for the better, but IMO the face on both is the most noticeable thing this year.

I thought both played well on Friday...and looked pretty fine as well.
