Clone Cones...I've Had Enough!!

There needs to be an intervention...the last few Clone Cones I've had have been terrible (by clone cone standards, which is still terribly delicious). I'm not sure if the workers there have ever made ice cream cones before in their lives. The guy who made mine at the Baylor game had the cone about a foot underneath the "spout" and then just kind of dumped the unsteady cone into a bowl. And it was all cardinal, no gold. Come on, concession workers, learn how to make an ice cream cone!!

For $4 all I want is some properly frozen ice cream, in a cone, that is red and yellow. Go Cyclones!

The concessions are being run by a different company this year... it might be worth sending an e-mail to voice your complaints, before they get too set in their ways.

They put too much red dye in the mixture nowadays which makes it harder for the ice cream to be properly frozen.
 
everybody in line had the ice cream falling out of their cones. i just asked for a bowl. runny, melty, and messy. still pretty tasty.
 
This is almost as outrageous as the great "Nachos With No Jalapenos" debacle of 2010. I am outraged by the lack of proper ice cream education these workers have and feel that this great injustice should be taken to the highest authority.

You sir are a champion among men for bringing this to light for the masses. I commend you for your bravery and pray that you will overcome this situation. Godspeed and Godbless on your upcoming journey.

Yeah, it's another good way to support ISU athletics, since they get a cut of the revenue. They'd get a lot more if they hired a company who served quality food, regardless of price.

I wanted to ask if the cyclones let different organizations or groups work the concessions for a percentage of the take. We live in eastern Iowa and our high school post prom committee has a window at the hawkeye football games.. We supply the staff to work the window and then get a good percentage of the money taken in for the day. It makes the prom committee a lot of money. I know they let schools, churches, and many other groups do this.
I wondered if the cyclones did someting similiar at hilton and jack trice?

You have to go through Levy Restaurants. They handle all the staffing.

With all the different shades of "cardinal" we've been sporting over the last few years, they're probably just confused as to what color to make it, and in the confusion they're forgetting about the gold. Tisk tisk.
