Looks like he was hurt early in his game tonight....strenum or maybe ribs. He was in a lot of pain and was having difficulty breathing. Hope iit is not serious for the young mans sake.

D'oh! Hope he's ok and hopefully everyone else can make it through the summer healthy.

When these kids play ball pretty much 52 weeks a year, there are bound to be some injuries, let hope its not too serious.

I didn't exactly see what happened but it looked like he was setting a pick and got hit in the chest and then he doubled over in sever pain. I thought at first he got the wind knocked out of him or got hit in the nads but it appears to be much more serious. He was unable to even make it back to his own bench and sat on the opposing bench with a trainer for the entire first half. He tried several times to stand up but was unable to. He kept trying to straighten out his back but was obviously in severe pain. At halftime he finally made it to his feet and very, very, very, slowly made it back to his own bench and sat down again. I left then but heard that EMTs came and took him to the hospital on a stretcher. It would appear to me that he bruised/cracked or broke his sternum or ribs. Lord knows we don't need any more bad MBB news so lets hope this isn't serious.

I talked to Diante at the midpoint of the last game and he hadn't heard anything. He said Boozer was going to check on him. Yeah, he was setting a screen on the guy that Diante was guarding and no one called out screen for Diante and he ran right into him. He said he was having upper chest pain but that's all he knew. He did leave on a strecher, hopefully just precautionery but it did look like he was in a lot of pain whenever he tried to move.

Looked like Ribs or Sternum to me. As others have said he was definitely in alot of pain. I doubt we see him again at the Cap City league this year but hopefully he will be healed up by the time the season rolls around.

I'm going to have to stop going down there. The last time I went down to watch was when Carr popped his hip out of the socket.

Yeah I feel terrible when anyone gets hurt but especially so when a new person goes down. It's got to be hard enough moving away from home and trying to make it in an entirely new community and then something like this happens. It's really too bad. Hopefully it's too bad!

By the way Vanderbeken is in town and played in the last game against Brackins' team.

Definitely got some skills. You could tell he's very skilled especially for a big guy. He showed some good moves in the paint and a nice shot from the outside. He seemed to fit in pretty well with everyone especially if this is his first day here.

Mann was the guy I was most excited about from Sunday. Hope it's not too serious, but didn't look good. Hopefully, they are just being cautious and he'll get better soon.

Vanderbeken sort of looks like a stoned version of Dirk Nowitzki with his long hair. His game somewhat resembles it, too.

Boozer was pretty awesome tonight with the dunks. Had some good 3s, too. Liked the way he played.

Haluska really lit it up, but was also being guarded by Thompson a lot of the time (wasn't getting out to defend the 3 fast enough).

Buckley continued to look good on his shot & decision making w/ the ball. I think he should be our starting PG from game 1 based upon the little I've seen.

Eikmeier played some point, pushed the ball well off the rebound, but seemed to make some careless passes. Hit some good looking 3s. I'm much more comfortable with him as a SG than a PG.

Pomlee seemed a bit more aggressive scoring tonight, and was pretty smooth & efficient compared to my expectations.

Hamilton showed a few moves again, too.

I'm still waiting for Christopherson to light it up in game situations.

All the new guys have good potential it seems. Competition for starting spots & minutes should be pretty fierce.

Agree with pretty much everything. I thought Christopherson looked good though. He ran the point quite a bit for his team and really looked to drive hard to the basket. lolVanderbeeken's hair was awesome, the first thing I thought when I saw him was Sunshine from Remember the Titans.

I agree w/ that. He seems to be doing well as a PG, and ball handler. I'm expecting more from him as a spot up shooter. Maybe it's just that he doesn't really have anybody setting him up and has been cold some these first two games.

I certainly hope this is nothing serious. I do know from personal experience that even a minor sternum / rib cage injury can be quite painful from just breathing. Hopefully this is just a minor issue.

Yeah, I gotcha. Well I'm out for the night but to those of you close to the basketball team could you please keep us informed on Mann? Hopefully, it isn't too bad.

Talked to an ISU player who said that Mann says he felt a pop and thinks he cracked his sternum. Also heard he is the most likely to redshirt this year

I fractured my sternum and seperated a few ribs in a basketball game last year. Wow does it hurt! I felt like I was having a mild heart attack. The Dr. said he didn't believe in those rib wraps and just gave me Hydrocodone (vicodin) for a couple weeks and said that it would heal on it's own. Also the Dr. said I could do activities as long as I could stand the pain because I couldn't really further injure myself.

That really sucks about Mann. I was getting really excited about seeing him play next season. I hope his injury doesn't keep him out of play time.

Someone mentioned redshirting. For what reason? Not because of the injury, correct. Just because Mac and Clint think it is best??
