After 105 years the Cleveland Indians will no longer be the Indians. Can only imagine teams like the Chiefs and Blackhawks will be pressured soon to change.

They have been pressured for years. Thankfully the owners of those teams have just used their brains and resisted.
The Blackhawks are named after a military unit that is named after a person, and their identity is not done in an insulting way. The two situations are nowhere close to comparable.
The difference I had always been told was that chiefs, blackhawks, and braves and such was actual names or segments and not considered derogatory names. Indians was a misname due to thinking they were in India.
Spiders! If they don’t become the Cleveland Spiders, it’s a huge missed opportunity IMO
The mascot was the biggest issue with the Indians organization. Even getting rid of that doesn't eliminate that image completely. A name change is necessary.
I don't know whether the other names are terribly bad. But the tomahawk chop should be eliminated IMO.
The Spiders were a different franchise than the Indians are so I’m not sure if that would have any affect on it if they don’t own the right to the name or if anybody even does. But agree Cleveland Spiders would be sick
That is questionable. The Seminole tribe has stood behind Florida state with their name, mascot and other uses.
Chiefs will become the Monarchs before Patrick is done.
As probably the only Cleveland baseball team fan on this site, give me Spiders or I riot. Distant second are the Cleveland Rocks
Just make them the Cleveland Baseball Team.
I dunno. Hunt family still very visible and their last name really matters in the AFC and NFL.
Another one I just saw was Cleveland Municipal Baseball Club or Munis for short. I kinda dig that.
