How many years ago are we talking here? 15 to 20 years ago, a coach would have got away with it with nothing more than a stern talking too and it had better not happen again at most. Last 10 years or so, a coach or teacher would be placed on administrative leave, and would never coach there again more often than not.

Yes. I believe he transferred to NW Missouri St. He was a big recruit in Iowa.

nodaway has had some head coaching issues as of late going back to last year.

now to be fair, nodaway would of had no idea about any of this when they hired him back in may.

Nothing wrong with Northwest. I have a ton of connections there. My dad went there. My sister works in administration there. I like Maryville. Bevins was an absolute beast for them. He would have been a good player at ISU.

Head FB coach and history teacher at my high school was arrested for his role in an illegal sports betting and money laundering scheme. Lost the FB coaching position, pretty sure he was suspended the remainder of the school year, and later returned to his teaching duties at the HS and coached girls tennis.

I want to say it was the same guy who a few years later sat on his roof during Homecoming week and waved a gun at kids out TPing when they approached his home

I missed this somehow it seems. Didn't find the gun charge yet, though. I liked him mostly, and played tennis with his kid.

Bevins was a huge recruiting get out of HS. Shock when he transferred to NWMSU but was big contributor on national level teams. Had his NFL experience with Cleveland. Had Clarinda job going in the right direction & coached in this past Shrine Bowl. Evidently a dark side to his personality which came out publicly. Hope he gets some help.
