Chupacabra?

I was mostly joking but now that you brought it up... can dogs catch mange from coyotes? How does it spread?
All of the mites that cause mange are spread by direct contact. The scabies and mange mites are highly contagious (easily spread to other animals or people). Some mites can survive for several days off an animal's body, on clothes, towels, or bedding, so these objects can be a source of infestation.

A while ago, we were travelling through Mexico and visited the markets of Tlaquepaque (outside Guadalajara). While walking around, there was a puppet show going on in a park in the center of town. In the couple of minutes while I was listening, the only word that I understood was Chupacabra. The only reason I knew the word was from an episode of the X-Files. My Spanish comprehension isn't great.

If I'm ever in a Spanish speaking country if I have to do anything other than find a bathroom, library, or curse at someone I am screwed. 4 years of high school Spanish education and thats all I got.

An interesting aside, was fishing a couple weeks ago and DNR officer saw me and asked to see my license. We started talking and he told me there probably already is or soon will be a breeding population of black bears in Iowa.

I’ve heard similar. It will be a major issue if they’re on your land I would imagine.
