I wrote my blog entry this morning about "Player X" for "Team X" and the possibility of them coming together in Cyclone harmony. I figured with all of the info out there it would be ok to write about it...

Chizik Appears to have Landed a Big Fish from “The Swamp” by Jerry Hales

Well in case you haven’t heard, the message boards are swirling with talk of Florida Gators back Bo Williams having transferred to ISU. Right now I guess I will just call them “substantiated rumors”, as there have been many things found that point to his already being in Ames and ready for the second semester but no official announcement. Bo brings a much needed boost to the Cyclone faithful in January, as we have had some football recruits decommit, ISU basketball players get injured, leave school, and get an enema from the NCAA.
Williams looks to be a freak of nature athletically by all accounts, and just wasn’t happy at Florida. Coming out of high school he was heavily recruited by Florida, FSU, Louisville, Nebraska, NC State, Pitt, and South Carolina. Rivals has him coming out of high school as the 16th best back in the country and 4.48 40 speed to go with his power. Because he will have to sit out next year, he would be eligible to begin playing with Alexander Robinson in A-Rob’s junior year. This will give us a tremendous 1-2 punch in the backfield, and with a very young line right now we could be seasoned for big things by the time Bo can lace them up for us.
In other news, the Cyclone men will tip off the Big 12 season on Saturday down in Waco at Baylor’s “House that Bliss Built”. The Bears are now in Scott Drew’s 5th season at the helm and aren’t as cuddly as they’ve been in past seasons, as they have had a terrific pre-conference season and have major experience in the guard court. Contrast that with our inexperienced guards and it will be a big test to open up the conference schedule. The game starts at 5:00 pm on Saturday. Go Clones and welcome to ISU Bo!
