According to KCCI, Hilton reached 109 decibels (Jet Engine loud) against Oklahoma on a Monday night.
Not to knock Chiefs fans because Arrowhead is definitely loud, but I'm pretty sure they just broke the record because no one else has tried breaking the record. I'm sure Hilton has come close a few times to breaking 130 decibels the last couple years, specifically against Kansas the last three years.
And not to knock Hilton, but I'm sure the Cameron Crazies and the Phog has broken 140 decibels.

outdoor stadium brah....
The loudest indoor stadium record according to the Guinness website is the Milwaukee Bucks at 106 dB in 2008!???
Loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium (indoors)
Someone should email JP and have him get Guinness to the game against Michigan. Would be good pub for Hilton and ISU even if it later gets broken.
A 2008 Clippers vs. Bucks game holds the indoor record for loudest game. Hmm. Color me shocked.
I have also been to both and I thought the Metrodome was louder. Thought my ears were going to bleed last year. To be fair though, last years game against the Packers was a playoff atmosphere and the Vikings needed the win to get into the playoffs. The year before that, the Chiefs weren't a good team so there wasn't as much excitement.Been to games both at Arrowhead and the Metrodome. Metrodome noise can't hold Arrowhead's jock.
