Chiefs fans it could get worse

Carl really doesn't care to give the fans any reason to watch the Chiefs for the next few years does he? Watching Jared Allen was one of the few good things to watch last season.

As a Vikings fan, I really hope that goes through. I would love to see him in purple!

they will really struggle to sell tickets next year if this happens! They are already adverting on TV alot trying to sell tickets

From Allen, referring to the Vikings...

I can go to a team that is competing for a championship right now.
I do think that's a little premature.

But in a wishy-washy NFC...anything can happen I 'spose.

I have watched every chiefs game that has been on TV for like 8 years. I wouldn't drive to KC to watch them play if I was GIVEN tickets this season, especially if this crap goes on.

Trading Allen for draft picks? No offense Carl, but I've seen your draft results. I'd rather have one good player than 3 first rounders because he'd be hard pressed to get one solid guy out of them.

The Chiefs could be the worst team in football this year. By the end of last year the Raiders had passed them up.

Larry Johnson too many carries
Derrick Johnson wont take on the blocker
Bowe a step slow
and Allen OWI x 2
Tony G is old

And thats their good players.

he didn't mention what kind of championship, did he? NFC North Championship? Fishing Tournament Championship? WWE Cruiserweight Championship?

He could do all of those things with the Vikings.

We went to a game last year when it was about November, and I bet there was no more than 15k people there at the start of the game.

I never envisioned the Chiefs as an organization that would need to blow everything up to rebuild the team, but obviously that's the case right now. At least they can get picks and find some gems

That's too bad. Arrowhead is one of the best venues in the league when it's packed.

I've been there a couple of times, but I will never forget ISU vs FSU in the Eddie Robinson Classic. Easily one of the best football environments I have ever been a part of.

I've been to Arrowhead many times, and it's usually rocking. Last year the fanbase was just beaten down. Ownership and management is expecting college-esque devotion from it's fanbase and they aren't having it anymore.

Arrowhead has been voted by NFL players several times as THE loudest and best home-field advantage in the league; of course, that probably doesn't include the last couple of years.
KC fans deserve much better.

I am a season ticket holder to the Chiefs and life long Chiefs fan and my take it the following. The guy is a complete animal who had a very good season last year. I was excited about the opportunity to have a defensive line with Allen, Tamba Ali and the potential to draft Glenn Dorsey at #5 next weekend. That defensive line along with D. Johnson and Napolean Harris at LB would be a solid defense.

But the problem is on the offensive side of the ball with the OL older than dirt because Carl didnt pay attention. I see them trading Allen to the Vikings for hopefully a 1st and 2nd rounder this year, 1st and 3rd in the worst case scenario.

With a 1st and 2nd rounder for Allen that would give them the following picks:

#5, #17, #35 & #47

This would allow them to hopefully draft Dorsey at #5 to fill the hole with Allen gone and then use the remaining picks to draft the O-Line.

I hope they are able to get something done, because their home schedule is not very good this year and a quiet Arrowhead stadium is very boring. It also makes for the trip down to KC at 5:45 a.m. painful!

DUMB DUMB DUMB! What next, is he going to hire Issiah Thomas as assistant general manager? If he trades Allen he better get a TON of compensation for him. Possibly the best defensive end in the league and a fan favorite, wow things are really looking bad.

This guy seems to have come out of nowhere so it may not be quite as big a deal as some make it seem. Then again I don't pay a lick of attention to KC so maybe he has always been good. I think the Chiefs are hopping to get two or three guys/picks out of him which they need as they are a long way from being good. As a Vikes fan I also like the deal, provided he keeps performing. A 1st and a 3rd would be worth it. They may be looking D line in the first anyway and this guy is more of a known quantity. Giving up the 3rd is acceptable given that upgrade as well. What I'm afraid of is they weasel another pick/player away and this guy turns into Chris Hovan...

As a Chiefs fan I like this trade. With no offense, there are no playoffs anyway. In addition to Allen I would like to see Larry Johnson and Tony Gonzales get dealt as well. Right now we have 1 quality offensive lineman in Brian Waters so it doesn't matter who you have at QB or RB yet. Build the line this year with hopefully at least 3 OL starters and then evaluate Croyle and K. Smith. There's no point to pay either LJ or Gonzales with the quality of this offense.
