Hey,
I've only posted a few times on the board, and never started a thread, but I figure this is as good a reason as any for my first. I'm in a club on campus called Hope 4 Africa @ Iowa State, a subsidiary of the non-profit Hope 4 Africa. Our organization essentially tries to raise money for different projects related to bettering education in Africa. Last year we raised 8,000 dollars for text books for 4 schools in rural Kenya, and I had the privilege of going there to deliver the books and look for more projects. One of the things we noticed was how out-dated school is over there. We didn't see one computer for the students to learn on at any of the schools, and everyone knows that today's job market basically requires being familiar with a computer. So, we're doing a project called Computers 4 Hope through TippingBucket.org, which is a great website that facilitates charity projects. We need to raise $2,700 in donations in the next week to get the money at all, so we're kind of going crazy trying to get the word out. We're just asking people to donate a dollar to the cause (if we don't reach the goal, the card won't be charged), but of course if you wanted to, you could donate more. If this is something you're interested in (totally understandable if you aren't, but I might as well try, right?), then here's the link:

and also here's the website for our club and our organization

Thank you so much for even reading this, even if you choose not to donate, I appreciate you taking the time to read this novel of a post.
