The interview with Jamahl Johnson (starts at 6:00) was perhaps the best interview with a student athlete that I've ever seen. Thoughtful answers, articulate, insightful, transparent, good-natured, and comfortable before the camera. We could have multiple 100 post threads about things he describes (180 change in the program, learning from JaQuan Bailey, watching film of practice before he meets with coaches, etc.). Fantastic interview, absolutely fantastic.
The last I knew, Jamahl’s Dad was an NFL coach (Jets, maybe?). We may see another coaching generation in the making.
Really wish he was a junior, guy is a good player with a very good player in front of him.
just looked and he is no longer on the coaching staff, although he was last year. Couldn't find anything on if he ended up on another staff.

Silly me. I looked at his profile, Jamahl would actually be a 3rd generation coach.

Coach Scheelhaase really jumped all over that point when a reporter suggested there might be envy between the WR's and the TE's over who gets the ball thrown to them.
With no depth, there hadn’t been any. That would be over the last forty years or so.
It's good that Darren Wilson noticed that his fellow receivers were better than what they were at juco. That should always be the case, but probably was less so at times in the past. I remember those years when receiver was supposed to be strength of the team, but every passing play they were just blanketed. I loved Jamahl's interview. Looking forward to see Petersen and Akers this year too. Hopefully Akers getting more clean releases and being healthy helps create more separation.
The Suge nickname had me cracking up. Such a charismatic guy who gave a really nice, unintentional, high level breakdown of the change from CPR staff to the present. Not an NFL talent scout, but as others have said, his understanding of the game really indicates he could have a future in coaching at some point.
