Sounded as though Dari knew something about the situation while Kevin Carter had no idea who Iowa/Ferentz was. Kevin Carter did say that they have lost the game that has guaranteed him a job the last two year.

No he's not on the hot seat. He won't be removed. It would cost them $25 million to fire him. No way he's gone. The media and message boards will have no impact on Ferentz's job.

If Ferentz leaves by his "own doing" for a NFL job then the University of Illinois, Iowa City campus will be able to skate that fee. Similar to how we got rid of Chewy.

Why would Ferentz leave on his own accord? What NFL organization would want to sell that hire to their fans? $21 million reasons why Ferentz is the HC at Iowa next year...no matter how either party feels about it!

You beat me to it. What NFL team is going to offer him that kind of money with how Iowa is doing? And his job would be a lot more tenuous at the NFL level, especially as an unproven coach in that medium. He can sit back at Iowa and let the dough roll in without much worry about being let go.

True, but there will be a story towards the end of this mediocre season about some NFL team courting him. But don't worry, he'll decide to stay in Iowa City in the end. There will be rejoicing and feasts. Dancing in the streets!
