These coaching polls are weird to me. They're mostly just speculation and not results based obviously.

I'm the biggest Clone fan you'll find, but there's no way CMC should be ahead of KF if it's based on actual results.

Does Frost really deserve a top-25 spot already?

His work at UCF was very good and to be fair Nebraska came along a bit in the last part of last season.

Nebraska being good would at least maybe make the B1G interesting than the east division winning the title every year.

Already? A couple good years taking over a G5, followed by a 4-win season that started like utter s***?

I'm not saying he isn't a good coach, but top-25-worthy with his current resume seems like a stretch. That said, this season should be pretty telling for what he's capable of (as was our second season with Campbell).

I'm guessing Campbell was voted higher because he is young and those voters would rather hire him to run their program than a close to retirement Kirk.

Polls like this look at what the coach has accomplished at his current school and in the past. Winning at ISU is not easy, and Campbell is not only winning games, he is beating top 25 teams on a regular basis.

When comparing Campbell to Kirk Ferentz you have to remember Ferentz has 20 years at Iowa, while Campbell has 3 at ISU, and has a record of 19 - 19. What was Ferentz record after his first 3 years at Iowa?

Considering the fact that we were one of the ten worst P5 schools for a decade and a half and now Campbell has us ranked right around 15-25 on a consistent basis, he deserves to be in the top 25 now. Campbell is one amazing coach and his name is always going to pop up whenever a big time job opens up based on what he's done for ISU.
