Campbell joins Big noon crew for great q&a

I was really struck by how much Matt's unfortunate experience at Pitt while his parents were going through a difficult divorce impacted his desire to help young men get through their own struggles. Matt really is as much of a teacher as he is a coach.

Agreed. Which then makes him a great coach.

20 minutes of great content starting at 22:15!

Funny how Bob Stoops calls him "Matt," asks if he needs to call him "Coach Campbell," then keeps calling him "Matt," but Campbell consistently calls him "Coach Stoops." Nice job taking the high road.

Coach Campbell comes off really well in these interactions. Much better than his usual coach-speak.

Even shares a few things that I didn't know, such as going through the hard times of his parents getting a divorce while he was in high school.

I'm glad I watched that. That man is wise beyond his years. We are soooo lucky that he chose to coach at ISU.

Mike Hlas will lose his damn mind if he watches that with all the "culture" talk.

Eh seems like they always ask him the questions. "What is culture" etc.
Yeah and he gives the same answers. The mount union and personal life stuff was the only thing I found interesting. Would love to hear a genuine conversation with him and Stoops. Also I hope he asked Stoops off camera to come visit the team. Always had a ton of respect for him.

Just want this team to get off to a strong start...It has been a decade since ISU started first 2-3 games off well. If this team can start 2-0 and take care of business then it could be a really special season.
