CG has steadily improved his play since the start of the season. This is very important for a team with limited depth for several reasons. One, with Vanderbeken's propensity to get into foul trouble, it's good to know that someone can step in and provide decent minutes. Two, this gives Coach Fred the option of going with a bigger lineup when CG and JVB are on the court at the same time. And three, this allows Jake Anderson to rest and/or provide depth while Christopherson rests.

CG is developing into that all-important 6th man.

I like him. Very athletic. He could turn into a guy like Clark was.

I like Calvin's game, he doesn't try to do too much and does a lot of the dirty things(rebounding, defense, hustle) look forward to watching become a more complete player on the offensive end.

I've been impressed with him and Railey. Honestly, I didn't think we'd get much of anything out of either of those guys this year, but they have both shown a lot of promise to turn into very good players down the road.

Godfrey by far has been the biggest surprise, Railey shows small signs then does nothing the next game. Godfrey brings the same energy to every game, knows his role and continues to get better.

Wish he could have got that fast break dunk down last night. What a monster!

I was at the game and ready to go nuts if he threw that down. He had a nice monster dunk a play or two before that one.

I foresee many more big throw downs in the next few years between Godfrey and Ejim. Nothing like a big fast break dunk to get the crowd going nuts, will be helpful in bringing the Magic back at Hilton, especially in close games in the Big 12.

It was clear early on that Texas S. was a bad match up for Railey. They had smaller quicker posts that Railey couldn't keep up with. Railey's best game was against Cal which had larger posts which he could body up against. I think when B12 play starts we'll really need Railey's play.

He kind of reminds me a mini shaq...idk it's just his body type reminds me of someone who is a linebacker more than a forward. But he had some great rebounds last night.

Godfrey is very athletic. When his skills catches up to him, he will be Glen Davis type of player (minus the shooting).

Godfrey is averaging only 4.5 rebounds per game, but the numbers look better if you "prorate" it by minutes played (CG is average 17 mpg), then extrapolate that to 11 40-minute games.
Godfrey: 10.6
Jake: 10.2
Ejim: 9.5
JVB: 8.5

Not sure what that means statistically, but those are the numbers.

Wasn't he the one which was a thin case academically? I hope he can survive finals this week.

Coming into the year there was speculation about him being cleared academically. Once he was enrolled that went away. Now he must keep above a 2.0 which surely he will be able to do with all the help these guys are given. Tudors are provided and plenty of material for exams are available. Phillips has been the one so far that has known academic issues.

he reminds me of damion staple in a way.. gets his hands on loose balls and is really starting to fit into the system

Irony...
