It sounds like Calvin Godfrey, a 6-8 215 power forward from Robbinsdale, Minn., is currently visiting ISU.

I was reading a couple of articles around the Minneapolis area on this kid and he sounds like a kid that has really flown under the radar. He transferred this year from a school in Milwaukee and before that played at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg.

Minnesota was really looking at him but I think the grades and his being to four schools has really gotten some big programs to stay off him but it is sounding like we are the favorite to land him. The guy just got a 24 on his ACT, so that certainly doesn't hurt.

How does one obtain a ACT score that isn't their own?

Ask Wiliam "Worldwide Wes" Wesley and he will fill you on how to obtain an ACT that is not your own :)

From reading his ESPN evaluation it sounds like he is a very good shot blocker and is a kid that plays above the rim. Says he can step out to about 15 feet and hit the jumper. Says strength is the issue right now but I think for a player we would be adding this late in the game he is about as good as we can expect.

Now if we get Godfrey and can add a couple of European guys, that would be good!

It has been happening since the ACT tests have been around. You find some smart poor kid who looks sort of like you and have them take the test for you. They don't check ID's or fingerprints. But, before we jump to that conclusion, let's think positive and say he did get that score. Welcome... Mr. Godfrey!!!!

I know I'm in the minority but I still think we have a decent core if we can add some talented newcomers on top of Ejim and Phillips. Right now we just need to find some more post players and Godfrey definitely takes us in the right direction there.

I think you offer Kevin Grayer a scholarship and offer Jeff Grayer, Jr., a walk-on opportunity. Kevin put up the numbers at Oakland CC. Jeff is still working on making the transition and is more raw right now. Heck add in Jeff Grayer's nephew Darius Stevens as a walk-on guy too. Heaven knows we need bodies!!

If we can get one more post that can play some meaningful minutes and Dendy gets his grade issues in order and fulfills his Senior year, I agree with this.

The sky may be a little gray, but it isn't falling contrary to popular belief.

If we strike out on getting another quality big, then it is going to be tough.

I completely agree with you ISUNo1Fan. If Dendy is back and we add another big we can still have success. I actually like the starting lineup right now if Dendy is back. Right now it is about adding quality depth players in the post and possibly a point guard. Right now though I think we have a bunch of players that will play together as a team.

Phillips (or bubu) MUST be able to help run the point! God we need to have quality play out of our point guard position and I am optimistic Nick Nurse can help with that.

A guy overseas that I think we need to look into is a french kid named Martin Ngaloro. Martin signed with Memphis last summer but a week before the start of the school year he blew out his knee. If he is still looking to come over to the states to play I think we need to make the call because he would be a very very good addition.

I think Nurse will help Diante out as well. It would be nice if we could allow Diante to play more off the ball though which I think Phillips might allow us to do. It really does sound like Bubu might be a hidden gem, as well. I am still as optimistic as I possibly can be given the situation that has happened over the last four years.

Quality post player is highest priority right now, but I do agree another PG would be nice.

Utopia is 2 more post players and a solid PG to help spare DG.

I think we look to add Calvin Godfrey, Kevin Grayer and then a european combo guard and a european big man. With what we know right now that is how I try to allocate the schollies.
