BuBu Palo

I honestly don't think that BuBu Palo can compete at the D1 Level. While he had pretty good athleticism, I thought the freshman Marcus Paige was a far better prospect and definitely outplayed BuBu. BuBu has no outside shot and made some poor passes and poor decisions with the ball. LinnMar had some decent players but the game should not have been that close.

Go ahead and hate on me but I wasn't overly impressed.
I just watched the game last night (DVR) and couldn't disagree more. Palo took the ball to the rack when ever he wanted, especially in the 2nd half. Paige was not quick enough to defend him. Palo should have made the All-tourney team.

Bubu is naturally very strong, if and when he starts lifting weights he will be a force.

BuBu wpuld be like Cory McIntosh without an outside shot. Paige was more than quick enough. And Paige is but a freshman. BuBu is a senior. I would recruit Paige over BuBu.

bubu can hit the outside shot. He has a very good midrange game, which is a lost art. Furthermore, if no one can keep him out of the lane, why take an outside shot? Also how can you say that paige dominated the match up? he only had 5 points on palo, while palo had 11 on him. Yes he is a senior so that makes sense. In addition he had two turnovers but four assist not a bad turnover to assist ratio

For the record Paige had 8 points. I think Palo played okay but without HB in the game Palo doesn't get to drive the lane. And I just don't see enough in Palo's game to think that he could potentially play in the Big XII. He is a nice high school player. But he is NOT D1 material. Paige isn't D1 material yet either. But look at where HB was as a freshman and the potential he had. Now pencil in Paige and see the potential he has. BuBu just doesn't have the potential to expand his game to a higher level.

Again when Bubu gets in the wt room he will become more explosive and even faster than he already is. He has a big upside. I also agree that Paige has a huge upside. In Des Moines last Saturday Bubu was MUCH better.

Bubu is a senior! Has he not started lifting yet?!?!

He gets to the lane against high school players. Valley had a quick PG named Marion a couple years back who was a better HS player than Bubu and he wasn't even a D1 player. He walked on at ISU for a short period of time

He was saying that he had 5 on Bubu, not in the whole game. Paige will be better they Bubu is now, but Bubu is the better player now. Thats all anyone is saying.

I know paige had 8 points but five of them were on palo. One of his threes were on the back end of ames' press. In addition no one ever said he was big XII material. They just said D1 in general. Furthermore, palo did just fine driving the lane when hb had foul trouble against ic west. In addition, yes he does not lift. He is young for his age and could be a junior in high school. Also bubu could expand his game if he added the three ball to his game to go along with his penetration game

I heard today that Bubu was considering not playing HS soccer this year.

Dear god. Not you and your BuBu Palo posts again. What's your obsession with him?

Does anyone on this board care that some kid at Ames High is not playing soccer this year? What's next from you? Reports on what Bubu's mommy packed him for lunch today?

May I suggest you visit bubupalofanatic.com and come back when you have something useful to talk about?

Bubu doesn't play soccer for Ames High anyway, he's too good
it might be for Menace?

Wouldn't that wreck his basketball eligibility? I know pro-skiing wrecked what's-his-name's eligibility from Colorado (well, at least accepting endorsement money did).
