So how does everyone think Brock will do? I think he might be pretty good given his sheer size and quickness. Not sure who he trained with but if he didn't learn submissions he is going to have to stay on his feet, no matter how good a wrestler he is...

There is a pretty good article here, also mentions former ISU wrestler Mike Van Arsdale.

Looking at wrestlers and MMA - MMA - Yahoo! Sports

I think he will lose, if for no other reason I would like to see him get beat up. Just like I want to see some of the former OSU wrestlers get beat up, mostly Johny Hendricks.

I guess the few articles that I've read on line seem to think that he'll either win this or has a good shot at it.

You just never know though. Doesn't sound like he's been challenged at all.

Due to size and strength I believe he may hang in it for a while, but I think alot of athletes from similar sports(boxing, wrestling, WWE) come into it thinking that they are on top of their sport and the others can not be too hard to get a grasp on. They do not realize you have to be pretty close to the top every aspect of MMA to compete. He may beat Mir who is a respectalbe fighter but IMO will never reach any where close to the top and will be like every other athlete to switch and realize just how hard it really is.

Does anyone know who Lesnar is training with?

There was a pretty good article about him in this month's issue of Muscle and Fitness.

I wish I could tell you. He's been holed up in Minnesota training. Kinda like Rocky before taking on Drago. Anyway, he's been training w/ different types of fighting. He's not just depending on his wrestling background. He can take someone down. It's just a question of what he can do once he has them down.

Mir had the title until he got squished on his motorcycle and it was a bad wreck with broken bones all over. Most thought he was done fighting. It's pretty amazing he has had a nice little comeback. If he never would have wrecked he would kill Lesnar. Now it will be an interesting fight.

Mir at his prime was very tought to beat. He won't be intimidated by Lesnar's size. He is the guy that snapped Tim Silvia's arm. I believe Mir also has a victory over former Cyclone Justin Eilers.
