Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was slated to hold a 2:45 EST press conference, to be carried live on ESPN.

As of 2:58 p.m., Favre has not held the press conference and ESPN has taken down the teaser hyping the press conference, though it is still on the "list" of stories to be covered.

Now a questionmark.
Is he calling it a career?

UPDATE: At 3:25 p.m., Vikings running back Adrian Peterson took the podium, not Favre. According to the Twitter feed of the man behind the blog thevikingage.com, Favre will hold his press conference tomorrow instead.

No one has reported as to just what, exactly, the press conference will be about.

**** yes he most likely is calling his career. Thanks for letting me know THANK GOD HE'S GOING!

And here comes some rep for you.

If he quits now, that's even worse than his other previous "retirements".

He is probably announcing that this is definitely his last year. And then he will win a game this week, hold a press conference next week and say, nevermind.

This is the kind of crap I hate!! Favre is doing nothing wrong. But the media is just stirring **** up. He always has a press conference.

"Favre texts a player and says 'this is it" ......ok?!?! Who cares? They than turn that into Favre retiring

Just another example of putting himself above the game, or another attempt to deflect any blame for his struggles. My prediction is he'll retire the first time an injury may risk his consecutive starts streak, and then return as the Cowboys QB next year after Jones cleans house in attempt to participate in the super bowl he is hosting.

Yeah, because Favre has never had anything to do with his own media hype.

Why do people think this about Favre? Has he EVER quit before? No. Has he ever missed a game? No.

If anybody watched them play last week you would realize Favre is fine. Sure he threw 3 picks but only 1 was his fault. Drops by Harvin and Berrian cost him

You live by the sword and die by the sword. If Brett wants to use the media when it's to his advantage he better be able to take it when the media uses him to their advantage.

My money is the delay is because Childress is still on his knees in front of BF offering him most of his paycheck for him to keep playing.

...now that I think about it, that visual is very disturbing - especially for those of us who have seen Team America
