I am so pumped Adding Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez is just sick to that already killer lineup.

1. Elsbury
2. Carl Crawford
3. Adrian Gonzales
4. Youkiliss
5. Big Papi.
6. Pedroia
7. J.D. Drew
8. Cameron
9. Saltalamachia

That is a killer line up.

Pitchers
1. Lackey
2. Lester
3. Beckett
4. Matsuzaka
5. Wakfield (Possibly someone else in Wakfields spot)

I can't wait to see what Crawford looks like in years 5,6 and 7 of this deal. Never would have given him a 7 year contract.

Does not compute...
You have 4 OF in this lineup and Gonzalez and Ortiz. Ortiz is gonna DH that leaves Cameron as the 4th OF.
Who did you forget? Scutaro the SS. He will hit 8

With the way the Red Sox are spending money they can just cut him and eat the last couple years, if they have to. That team is going to be nice next year. The AL East will be brutal.

Or they can use him for a few years to beat the Yankees, then while he is still valuable in 3 or 4 years, trade him to the Yankees for the downslide of his career. They are about the only other team that can afford that huge contract.

Well Papi can play first and Youkillis can play third....leaving the 4th OF to DH....

And where is Gonzalez playing? Also the thought of Papi playing 1B just makes me laugh.

Gonzalez at 1B, Papi at SS. It's a new look lineup, gotta make some radical changes after not making the playoffs.

I think the lineup will look more like this:

1. Pedroia R
2. Crawford L
3. Youkilis R
4. A. Gonzalez L
5. Ortiz L
6. JD Drew L
7. Scutaro R
8. Salty/Varitek S/S
9. Ellsbury L

You mean when he is 34, 35, and 36? The Red Sox had Bill James work up a full analysis on Crawford's skill set before they pulled the trigger. It showed that he specialized in the tools of a "young-player" (speed, defense, contact) which typically age much better then the tools of an "old-player" (power). If the Red Sox win a title in the next 7 years I imagine they will be just fine with the deal.

and in your rotation you forgot Clay Buckholz who will probably be the 3 or 4. Wakefield is out of the pen.
Matzusaka has been mentioned in trade rumors.

Gotta love "fans" that can't even spell the names of the players or put together a legitimate lineup. Careful, I hear it's a bumpy ride on that bandwagon.

I love being an Oriole fan. :swoon:

We apparently were figuring in the discussion on D Lee. Good lord. Glenn Davis anyone? Albert Belle? I guess I shouldn't assume they will overpay but they usually do.

Please Buck, work a miracle!

It's amazing how quickly the Red Sox have turned into the Yankees, and have also become one of the most insufferable fan bases in America.

I am a fan, not the manager idiot. I have been on the Red Sox Bandwagon since 1979 due to being on the Red Sox when I was 5 years old in T-ball. Trust me if I was a bandwagon guy I would not be a Cyclone fan.

Thank you for that. Made my day.

Also get used to the bumpy ride on the Creighton bandwagon fool. Especially since your coach is Greg Mcdermott.
I have also been a Red Sox fan longer than you Matt.
