Boo-urns!!!

I've listened to Shearer as himself on NPR. Not funny. In fact, rather annoying. My first thought is that they're probably glad to be rid of him.

As a huge Simpsons fan, just end it.

That show is going to take a huge hit without Flanders or Burns....Burns especially.

I remember back in 1990 they banned Simpsons apparel at my elementary school because of a shirt featuring Bart that said: Underachiever And Proud Of It, Man.

People still watch The Simpsons?

I get why you're posting this even though I'm not sure the reason to say it other than troll....however while I don't watch it anymore, I grew up with it and Fox just renewed it for 2 years meaning people still watch.

The Simpsons and Married With Children were very controversial at the time. Look how far we've come

I was just speaking to a co-worker last week, and I made a Simpsons reference. (I referred to someone as a Jerk***) She looked at me like I'd grown a 3rd head. I told her it was from the Simpsons, and she said, "Oh, we don't watch that show in our house. That boy, Bart, is too disrespectful to his elders."

I thought I'd accidentally gone back in time. Certainly, back in the early nineties, The Simpsons might have been edgy, but in the time since, the rest of television has definitely caught up with them. Bart is pretty tame by today's standards. This is a woman that can tell me the plot of every ****ty CBS sitcom from the last 20 years, but the Simpsons is still out of bounds?

As far as the state of the show, goes, it's probably time to end it. Now that they're showing all the old episodes on FXX, you can see how fantastic they were. There are still some good episodes here and there, but it's clear that they've gone on way past their prime.

I think we all know that kids never disrespected their parents before that terrible Bart Simpson came along. What if kids want to be like the boy?

I still make Simpsons references with mixed results. My fiance doesn't get most of them, but I don't care.

If there has been nothing quotable for the last 10 years, then it's probably well past time to end it.

I remember when I was in the dorms, we would all gather to watch the Simpsons in syndication and then go to the dining hall together for dinner.

And then down to the General Store to get a nice cold sarsaparilla.
