Bonds Tested Positive in 2001

Wow!! Didn't see that one coming...for like 6, 7, 8 years...

Roger Clemens should be really happy. It takes a lot of the public eye off of him.

I can already hear the Bond's apologists. "He didn't test positive until after he broke the record."

I knew there was a reason I didn't particuarly respect the new record...

Oh wow - so do you think that this probably explains:
a) his incredible body mass increase in a few months at age 33
b) his prodigious HR rate starting in 2000
c) his spontaneous bouts of aggression (beating up Jeff Kent in the dugout).
d) his big, swollen head.
:eek::eek:

maybe I am missing something, but why is this just coming out now, if he tested positive in 2001?

Exactly - I'm assuming that MLB wasn't required to disclose it or was outright barred from doing so by their contract with the player's union.

What a joke.

Couldn't quite put your finger on it?

nope, it was just out of reach... :wink:

And the NFL continues to sound more and more appealing to me as America's new past time... since about 1/2 of my childhood memories of baseball have been ruined now... (I'm just glad my biggest childhood hero has never been tainted by any of this ****)

I still think Brady Anderson hitting 50 homers for Baltimore was a roid accomplishment.
