for throwing behind Ian Kinsler. WTF??

That's like being pulled over for speeding and getting a ticket for $1. Way to hammer home the message, MLB. :biglaugh::biglaugh:

I think it's ridiculous that he got fined at all, actually. I mean, I know i'm biased and all, but this happens in the bigs all the time. 1. He didn't even hit him. 2. If he had, it would have hit his butt. 3. The rangers hit 6 white sox batters over 5 games. The white sox hit none. I thought this was just typical hard knock baseball?

I didn't see any of the games so can't say if it was waranted or not, but I think this is hilarious. The guy is making $5.6 million this year, which even if he makes 50 appearances, is making well over $100K per appearance. I'm sure that fine is really going to deter him from ever doing this again.

Why don't they just save the paperwork, slap him on the wrist, call him naughty, and get it over with.

Let's see, he's making $5,600,000. Last year he pitched 61.2 innings. If he does that again, he'll earn about $90k per inning. If he throws 15 pitches per inning, he's making about $6000 per pitch. So MLB just fined Jenks for 1/8th of a pitch.

If he is being paid $5.6 Million/year, it is about $640 each hour he lives. That would be like fining the average entry level job $5. This is just pathetic and a complete waste of paperwork and time.

They had to do it because he admitted it was intentional. I think the MLB knew that there was nothing wrong with what he did.

He only got fined because he was an idiot and came out and touted how he MEANT to throw at him. EVERYONE who knows anything about baseball knew that was intentional, but as long as he doesn't say it, he won't get fined. It is a ridicuously small fine though...

I think people would stand in line to bean A-holeRod.

I know I would.

What did Josh Beckett get for throwing over the head of Abreau?

I'm pretty sure Beckett got 6 games for that one.

As long as you don't throw at someone's head i have no problem with someone getting hit on purpose if warrented. Thats baseball, get over it. No need to fine anybody unless they throw at a guys head.

Agree!

The only reason it was 6 games is because Beckett is a starting pitcher and they wanted to make sure he would miss a start. If you do less than that, then the "suspension" does nothing.
