Bo Williams

Students, on Monday, please post if there are any Bo Williams sightings, and make sure to welcome him to ISU.

Bo is going to have a Lucca like mythology about him by the time he hits the field in the Fall of '09!

Here's hoping both can live up to the hype!

Now that everything is official, I will actually comment on it.

First and foremost, I'm excited as a fan for such a quality commitment. Although theres more to football than just recruits/transfers, this doesn't hurt either.

With that said, I have my worries. I'm sure he will pan out to be a better player than we we've seen around here in awhile, but it also seems that even some of our fans weigh too much on these guys. But who could blame you. When you land a calibur player like that, you're more than anxious to see them play and have them make an impact. But what if they don't, what if they slightly struggle and don't come out lighting up the scoreboards like we all hope?

It seems to me, but its not unjustified, that every fan base expects great things from players before even seeing them touch a football. Why not right. A high touted high school recruit at one time should be able to explode in the college ranks. I just hope that everyone still understands that this is a rebuilding program and that is a variable that impacts every players performance.

Now that the not so positive comments are made, how about some positive ones. I'm just as pumped as the next guy. The size is a great mold for such a position, and hopefully the ability will show as well. It definately takes more than one man to make a team, but when you look at the group of players that the coaches are pulling in, it sure does make a die hard fan a little gitty. It's a shame that he has to sit a year, but its the same for every player, its just having the patience. The timing seems to be right too. With Scales and Bass gone, he can make for good competition with Robison and a nice 1-2 punch in the backfield if they share.

-Recruiting-Bo Williams-Officially Transferred

I was checking on some recent posts and found some talk about Bo Willams and whether he actually chose ISU over the other florida schools after him.

I checked his online social networks and he has stated that now he is at ISU.

Wow, if this all holds true. We can look for big things out of him and Robinson for the next few years. Great Pick-up!

Re: -Recruiting-Bo Williams-Officially Transferred

This only like the 5th thread that says he came here so if you've been living under a rock you might not have heard. haha. Rumor has it he picked ISU because the summers in Florida were too hot and he would like to see snow in the winter. He wants to experience the whole 4 wheel drive and chains on the tires thing. Welcome to ISU Bo!

Re: -Recruiting-Bo Williams-Officially Transferred

I know it's been stated many times, but this is great news considering JJ, Scales as well as Jason Harris graduate next year. A-Rob and Bo should be ready to go in 2009.

Speaking of Harris, I don't remember hearing much talk of why he didn't play much last year. He looked good at the spring game.

Re: -Recruiting-Bo Williams-Officially Transferred

So after he sits out how many years of eligibility will he have?

An article I read said that he would have 4, but I am assuming it is 3 years. Right now, Iowa State is looking primed ad ready for a big season in 2009-2010. That could be one of the best ISU teams of all time.

If he spent a year at Florida, and sits out a year here, he's losing a year one way or another. Three years. I don't know why everyone is so excited, he doesn't offer anything on paper that J.J. Bass didn't. Though hopefully we'll have a more dominant O-Line by '09.

I tried checking for him in the student database, but it didn't like the taste of 'Bo'. What's his real name?

(Dude, jokes about killing people are so not funny...)
