Monday night my wife and I were blessed with our first child. She was born via emergency c-section at Methodist downtown. All is well now and we are home. (She's still upset that her first basketball game was a lousy performance). Our daughter had blood and breathing complications. Please consider donating blood if you haven't done so. YOU have the power to save a life.
The NICU staff from Blank took over immediately and helped her around the clock until we left yesterday.
I couldn't be more amazed by a group of caring, kind, helpful, and intelligent people. If you have had an experience there, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, be thankful that you haven't gone through that.

THANK YOU to anyone that works with newborns that need the kind of help our daughter received. We are beyond blessed to have gotten the treatment we did.

Congratulations on your daughter! And I'm glad that she is doing better and at home.

Glad to hear everything is now well with mom and baby. NICUs and the staff involved are truly blessings for babies who need them.

Our 10yr old daughter spent 6 weeks in the NICU in Omaha. Her surgeon and some of her other doctors/nurses were big Husker fans. He would tease us that even though she was a Cyclone she had Husker blood due to transfusions. We let him think that. ;)

Glad the wife and baby are doing well now. Congrats on the daughter have fun!

Yay for more CF babies, and yay for dedicated medical practitioners that help the smallest and newest of us get a good start in life (like they did for my older son and his second daughter).

If your daughter is into older men, have her hit up wxman's 1 month old son. :)

I am all for arranged marriages with Cyclones. Already have two in mind. BTW CW we need to talk.

To the OP congrats! Glad everything is going well!

Our daughter had to spend 2 days there due to a fever her and my wife had during the pregnancy. Those were 2 extremely tough days for all of us. I had to split time going back and forth back and forth all the while that my wife couldn't see the daughter she had been carrying for 9 months.

My oldest son was a premie and spent 2.5 weeks in the NICU at Methodist. Such an amazing group of people there. Congrats on the new addition and I'm glad everything is going great now.

My oldest, now 10 years old, was born 10 weeks premature and spent 6 weeks in the Mercy NICU. I still remember all the nurses that took such great care of him and they will always have a special place in our hearts.

My oldest daughter spent 8 weeks there after being a premie. Agree with the sentiment above, they do great work. She's 21 now and in college. Everything will turn out ok.

Our oldest son (just turned 5) was in the NICU for a week as well, for a fever during birth. Those ladies are rock stars for sure. I feel for the parents who have kids in there for an extended time, our week felt like an eternity. The pictures hanging in the hallways of those places are crazy, babies the size of a pop cans. Congrats on the addition.
