Big 4 Classic Presale 10/27/17 @ 10:00 A.M.

Got mine...decent seats in section 219. Tickets range from $30 to $75...plus applicable fees...nice opportunity to cheer for Drake! If you don't want to become a Cyber Club member...free by the way, the public sale begins Monday, 30 Oct

Just checked and still a good # of tickets available....even lower 100 level seats. For those of us that don’t have access to lower level seats in Hilton, I always appreciate this opportunity to see the team up and close for a change.

I fully anticipate the continued trend of huge Cyclone fan numbers compared to other fanbases. Each year we seem to edge up higher and higher comparatively speaking.

I do think the last couple years trend of sellouts is in jeopardy however. I know if I was a Hawk fan, I’m not going to go in there with the real possibility of laying an egg against Drake.

Heard Chris Connolly on the radio this week, sounds like he’s not expecting a sellout.

Let's flood the place with as much Cardinal and Gold as possible then!

There is always discussion about who is the better fanbase....does DSM have more Hawk or Cyclone fans, who travels better, etc. This helps make our case plus I can only imagine how much the players appreciate looking up and seeing which fab base is truly representing.

Drake is playing tough which IMO would be worth the price of admission right there seeing that win!

This thing needs to die. Bring these games back to the campuses where they belong. I hope attendance keeps dropping. I appreciate capitalcityguy's efforts to support his local event but college basketball is substantially better in the home arenas.

I appreciate that perspective and in many ways it is true. However, the fact remains that the NCAA tournament games (and Holiday tournaments and conference championships) are played on “neutral” sites in similar arenas, with a mix of fan bases coming and going. I think this is why you’ll find the coaches of the teams find real value in this.

IMO, this game feels odd more for fans who’s main experience watching college BB and specifically the Cyclones is in Hilton. Yes, there is nothing like it on the planet.

That said, the reality is any successful team needs to perform in these neutral sites too and this is a great way to dip their toe in the “mixed fanbase” water so this isn’t such an odd experience in the future when it might really matter. (not to mention from a fan experience, it gives Iowans and BB lovers in a unique way to watch all our state’s teams live, in one day.)

Bottom-line: If you evaluate this experience using a game on a college campus as your barometer, you’ll always be disappointed. However, if you view this instead as an experience the team can benefit from and also provides a unique (note:I didn't say the best) fan experience, I think it is a very worthwhile event.
