Sounds like the Big 4 Classic may be nearing an end. My guess is they will finish out the 4-year deal and end the thing. I hate the set-up of the Big 4 classic, but I'm looking at it from a UNI fan's perspective. I have always enjoyed the in-state games and now that I work at ISU, I'd love to see UNI and ISU continue a series, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. Thoughts?

I think it's horrible we don't play at UNI and Drake. Screw what the Hawks want to do, I think its great for the state.

Wouldn't mind seeing home and home series starting up again. Especially now that order has been restored and UNI and Drake are back to the bottom of the barrel.

I don't think it's going away so ISU can add both UNI and Drake back to the schedule every year. Not with SEC challenge, a tourney like CBE, Iowa and 18 conference games.

I imagine we will say, "Sure we will play you. When would you like to come over?"

I'd love to get them back in the campus arenas, but I don't see a straight home-and-home happening. Hopefully UNI and Drake would be open to a 2-for-1 series.

I really hope they get rid of the Big 4 Classic and ISU goes back to playing UNI and Drake each year. For as much history is between the state schools, it is a shame they don't play every year anymore.

ISU, wasn't too long ago was not going to the NCAAs and was getting beat by UNI and Drake. Let's not act all high and mighty like Iowa is trying to. Let's go to UNI and Drake.

Personally, I am embarrassed as an ISU fan that we cancelled both games.

- UNI is part of the same educational system as ISU, we should be supporting them however we can within reason
- UNI game and Drake game are far more interesting than playing NCCUSTA&M State.

Let's not.

Yeah Id be down for going back to what it was, but I see no way ISU does anything less then a 2 for 1.

Year 1: Play UNI and Drake at Hilton
Year 2: Play at UNI, Drake in Hilton
Year 3: Play at Drake, UNI in Hilton

Repeat.

Let's not.

I'm not saying 1 for 1. Maybe 2 for 1 is the most logical? It's silly there is a division 1 basketball team 30 miles away and ISU isn't playing them every year.

ISU should play UNI and Drake every year, games should always be played in Hilton.

Why? If ISU is going on the road I would rather do what we have been... playing at a major conference team.

Exactly, drop a cupcake and pick up a midmajor. Simple.

I've never had much enthusiasm about a college game being held at the Well. Hilton Coliseum is college basketball cathedral. I hate having a game at WFA that could potentially be there instead. I'd rather drive 35 mins to Hilton, then 5 mins to WFA to watch the Cyclones. The atmosphere is infinitely better. I went to WFA when we beat Creighton and McD on Vanderbeken's "buzzer beater." It was loud, but Hilton would've been jet engine level loud for it.

I've been to ISU games @ UNI when I lived in CF and UNI has a great MVC program and stadium, but I would rather have us go schedule another major opponent like Michigan over playing @ UNI every other year.

If Drake and UNI want to come play @ Iowa State every year, then I'm all for it once the Big 4 Classic is done (my bet would be it won't be renewed once the 4th year is up.) Maybe a 3 for 1 or something with them at most if not every time @ Hilton.

I know some Drake or UNI fans will say "that's not fair, ISU should have to come play at our place just as much, who do you think you are?" Well, quite honestly, KU doesn't play every other year @ Wichita State, UT doesn't play every other year @ Rice or Texas St. So I don't see why ISU should play @ UNI or @ Drake every other year either.

I still say a better option would be for each school to schedule a non-conference foe and play them at the Well over the weekend. 2 games each day.

What's better, 4 in state schools playing 2 games in 1 day? Or Iowa State-Illinois, Drake-Horizon League school on Saturday and Iowa-Kansas State, UNI-Northern Illinois?
