Uni Watch's comprehensive preview for 2012 college football gear (Part 1) - ESPN

I think Baylor's black unis and OSU's orange helmet look pretty nice.

I'm guessing it has to do with being a natural turf field, but I do wish we had a Big 12 logo on our field. I think we're the only ones in the conference that don't

Well, if one school has anthracite uniforms, let's settle for lignite uniforms. Grey, gray, black, anthracite, chocolate uniforms sound to be in vogue with the halloween orange helmet.

Texas' practice uniforms are god awful. Wow

Most of the new uniform looks, imo, suck. It's basically become, "What can we put on here that no one else has" Which ends up making most of them look like they put a bunch of school colors in a cannon and shot the **** at some fabric.

I know I may sound like an old fuddy duddy, but most of these new unis are like radio commercials, intentionally bad to attract your attention.

How is Baylor a nike school for football, yet an adidas school for basketball?

Maybe Nike or Adidas did not want to cover entire athletics program. Adidas typically covers entire school (other sports besides bball and football), but Nike has tendency of pick and choose which sports. KU used to be the same way where Nike covered football/bball but didn't really provide any coverage for other sports. Once KU went to Adidas, entire campus pretty much turned into Adidas (even cheer leading, rowing, and swimming).

Dana Holgorsen says that mixing up the unis helps recruiting. I don't think it's asking too much for ISU to have gold & white helmet alternates. No logo or style changes. I'd love it if we combined the gold jersey with the gold pants/red helmet.

Baylor's black uniform is stupid. You have a gorgeous gold and green combination, with some white for trim. Black isn't part of your identity. Seriously, using primary colors that are not your school colors should be grounds for expulsion from the NCAA.

Kansas to NOB? That's fine. NNOB works for the Yankees, but not everybody.

OSU is just a mess on its own. If they want to look even more like a bad Halloween psychedelic comedy, be my guest.

WVU is in the same class as Baylor with the gray. Why gray? Navy and yellow isn't a good enough combination for your traditional school colors?

I'm so glad we've avoided this madness so far, and I hope we never change our uniforms again. Ever.

God forbid Baylor be the last school on the block to create a black uniform option when black has never been part of the school's color scheme.

Lame.

Those baylor ones suck. I'm also looking forward to them wearing those and finishing again where they belong... 9th or last place in conference.

Also, those WVU ones really suck too. Wear those in Ames if ya dare...hope our boys kick your teeth in while you are wearing them.

I was never the biggest fan of that logo. Interesting concept, but it dated itself quickly enough.

In fairness, too, we explicitly adopted blue and white as accent colors during that era. I'm *okay* with Baylor using black as an accent color, despite how little it fits with green/gold/white, but, we never used navy blue (which was never the trendy color that black is) as a primary or an alternative uniform for any sport at any point. We stuck to red, gold, and white for uniforms in this era.

All of this, yet we only have a red helmet... Honestly, we can use all the help recruiting we can get. Yes, I'd rather put the 75k into the new football facility, SEZ, etc., but this is something that we need to also look at in the future (asap).

But we did work blue into our uniforms throughout that period of time.
