I'm moving to Columbus, OH next week and am working on setting up everything. What do people recommend as for the best packages for being able to pick up ISU games? I know there was talk about this new TV deal for the Big 12, but have been unable to follow what all that would be on. Is DirectTV the way to go? Dish? Local cable system? TIA

Sports Pack through either DirecTV or Dish will get you all the FSN affiliates. You'll need to make sure you can get FSN Midwest, since there's always the chance that the Big 12 game may not air live on FSN Ohio.

See if your local ISP can get espn3.com -- that will let you see any football or basketball game that is on GamePlan or FullCourt.

DirecTV is also slightly more expensive than DISH too...

I would definitely go satellite though, as most likely a local company isn't going to offer as many regional sports channels as either Dish or Direct does.

You can get a better deal with Direct, just call them and tell them you want a better deal you can get with Dish or you will go with Dish. If you are a Direct coustomer tell them you are leaving and going to Dish, within an hour they will call back wanting to give you a better deal. I think the sports pack is cheaper with Direct.

For internet I would recommend whatever service provider offers ESPN3. My wife and I don't have cable/satellite, but we were still able to watch all but one of ISU's Men's Conference basketball games and a good chunk of the non-conference games as well. As for football you will want a good FOX Sports package because of the new Big 12 deal - most Big 12 regional channels run the same programming on their sister-channels.
