Bernstine out for season per KCCI

Well maybe not out for the whole season, but there's no way they don't medical redshirt him.

He hasn't redshirted so it wouldn't be a medical redshirt, just a regular redshirt. I think you have to go through a lot of hoops to get a medical redshirt.

and here come the excuses if we burn them at that corner spot all day
No excuses here. Prater has put his teammates in a tough position by being suspended for 2 games and how an injury means Iowa has to start someone at corner they would prefer not to. But such is football.

Whoever posted the orignal "rumor" probably just went out and took a baseball bat to his ankle while shouting "There's my link, chadm" to be proven right.

Would that be his mom that took a baseball bat to him, or did she hit him with the car?:jimlad:

DodgerHawki may not give excuses BUT I WILL! It's a given that a complete newbie at CB will be exploitable. DUH! That obviously now gives ISU a great exploitable spot to work on. However, also as others have said ... that's also how the game goes sometimes.

You guys don't honestly believe that, do you?

Not really, but I would not be surprised at all if it happened. You know, they could toss a statement out to the press like "well, Prater did some community service above and beyond what was expected of him, so we felt a 2 game suspension was unwarranted due to his contrition."

or as some are suggesting on HN, they could still make it two games, but pick those games (i.e. UNI and the other putz they play in non-conf.)

I don't really think that will happen, but who knows with KF??

I think both of you are high. Prater isn't going to play against ISU. The last thing Kirk would want is the poopdrizzle that would follow him moving the second game of the suspension to Ark. State.

Prater "earned" the 2nd game suspension by initially not taking responsibility for his stupid, reckless, and dangerous behavior. He was full of excuses early on and it was due to his reaction to his infraction that his punishment is more severe than Calloway's. Thus, I doubt that he'll be able to "undo" that ... so he'll be stuck having to deal with the 2-game suspension. And, as other hawk fans have suggested ... there's no way that Ferentz would change the suspension now.
