Battier compares benching to 'turd sandwich'

Shane Battier compared his Game 7 benching to eating a "turd sandwich."

"Sometimes you've got to eat a turd sandwich. Makes the ribeye taste better next time," said Battier, who found himself with a DNP-CD in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. Fortunately for the veteran swingman, he should get more playing time against the Spurs because of the different matchups. The Spurs don't have nearly the size that the Pacers do, which should mean more Battier and less Chris Andersen in the Finals.

I doubt it's a lot easier to violently fall down backwards on purpose against the Spurs than the Pacers. It may or may not be easier to take open 3s. I haven't seen Battier do anything else on a basketball court in many years.
