I want to thank CF and CFH for the Iowa Clinic ads. I followed the advice and it may have saved my life. I was diagnosed with Leukemia this week and will begin chemo treatment on Tuesday in DSM. Early detection and overall good health gives me a very good prognosis.

Fellow cyclone fans, please do the same. I am 46 years and had not been to the doctor in 20+ years (urgent care and health screenings don't count). I was lucky and God was watching over me. Go to the Doctor, even if you think you are healthy

Thanks and GO STATE!!!

I did not have symptoms. Regular check up revealed low white count which led to bone marrow biopsy

Keep the positive attitude and keep on fighting! You'll be in our prayers and stay strong!

Thank you for sharing. My best to you as you begin treatment.

Best wishes my friend. And yes, go to the ******* doctor. Most every insurance plan covers one checkup per year. You pay for it, so use it.

Have a close friend with it as well she has had it for about a year now, but has beaten it. Her last check up revealed no cancer, but she stayed very positive as we all did and she stayed active. I wish you the best!!!

Sending you best wishes for a full recovery!

My mom is going on 5 years of remission from a lymphoma. Chemo will be a *****, but you'll get through it, and it will work. Best of luck.

Ill be pulling for you hope all goes well, but what are you considering health screening? I consider a yearly physical a health screening and if your not sick and not going for health screening then what would you go to the doctor for? Im asking not to be a jerk but so I can protect myself as you did!

Stay Strong.

I'm pretty sure I know the OP and since he's only posted twice, I doubt he will be on here a ton. He has a very good prognosis and short chemo-treatment scheduled thank goodness. He's in good health, good spirits, and has a great support group around him. He has a great family and will be getting many prayers on his behalf.

Don't miss his message here. Get a physical every year! They are only unpleasant for 15 minutes or so, but can give you many more years with your loved ones. Quite a few friends in the mid-30s to late-40s have caught things early before the disease gets untreatable.

By health screening, I mean the finger poke and blood pressure test I get at work annually. An annual physical is what is needed.

I am on here all the time, just did not post much. Thanks for all the support. I will keep you posted on my treatment
