The link below takes you to an article about Syracuse and their recent drug policy problems. My real question though comes from a sentence very near the bottom of the article talking about the possibility of Syracuse being accused of "lack of institutional control for failing to adhere to its own drug policy".

Syracuse reports possible drug policy violations to NCAA - ESPN

That's one thing but then the sentence goes on to say "similar to sanctions recently levied against Baylor University". Did I just let something slip by me? I don't remember hearing about any sanctions against Baylor. What sport? What were the sanctions?

As long as I have Baylor on the hook, the projections mostly show them with a #3 in the NCAA tournament. How does anyone justify a higher seed there than in the Big 12 tourney? I know RPI and SOS and all that plays in but doesn't performance count? They are 2-6 against Kansas, Missouri, Iowa State and Kansas State. How does that equate to a #3 seed?

4 losses to teams in the top 10 and 6 losses all to tourney teams on the season....sounds like a #3 seed to me.

I'm guessing MBB back in the days of Patrick Dennehy, Carlton Dotson, and Dave Bliss.

The article says "recently levied". Those problems were 8 years ago if I'm not mistaken. Maybe that's it but that's not exactly recent.

I think they had some minor stuff recently, someone from Baylor was on here talking about it. Some kind of inappropriate contact with a recruit I think.

The ongoing investigation surrounds the recruitment of 6-foot-9 Hanner Perea, a junior from Colombia who transferred to LaLumiere High School in Indiana.
Multiple sources confirmed that Baylor assistant coach Mark Morefield sent dozens of texts to Perea’s AAU and high school coaches in July while they were coaching events, which is against NCAA rules.
Morefield, according to sources, had already been suspended by the school and was not allowed to recruit on the road in July for previous texting infractions.
Morefield also sent a text to LaLumiere coach Alan Huss, which was obtained by FOXSports.com, saying that if Perea didn’t go to Baylor, he wouldn’t be back in the United States.
"I guarantee u if he does [commit to another school] he will be in Colombia for the spring and summer and next year. Don’t forget it,” the text said.
Both Huss and Indiana Elite coach Mark Adams — the recipient of Morefield’s texts in July while at a tournament in Louisville — declined to comment when contacted by FOXSports.com.
However, sources have told FOXSports.com that both have been interviewed by the NCAA and Baylor has self-reported the text violations involving Morefield.
