While I know he was playing some WR/SE from game one, today's high profile catch made me think. I know he is #3 in line for QB, but does anybody know what the plan is for him?

With the way we are using him now and seeing Arnaud got in last week for a series, I think our QB of the future has been tabbed.

However, we won't know until that day comes.

He has way too much speed and athleticism to not have him on the field. He made a great adjustment to come back and get the ball on that last catch.

Yeah, all my Hawk fan buddies were so hot about Klinkenborg getting put in coverage on a Bates, but Klink had great position. He just head checked at the wrong time and Bates made a sweet play.

Word from the team is that Bates is easily the best pure athlete on the team.

I think we all knew he was the best athlete on the team before the year. That is why all those schools wanted him to play safety. Pretty good receiving core this year to have blythe, messiah, moses, montgomery, bates, sumerall.

A Good Battle in the Spring

Maybe the staff already sees him at another position by the fact he didn't redshirt and he's playing WR.

However, I say we have some competition in the spring for the QB position. I'd hate for us to just hand the job to Arnaud. I am probably wrong, but do we have any other underclassman QB's on the roster than Arnaud & Bates?

Yeah I saw he did that for the UNI game too. I didn't get there in time to see if he did at the Kent State game.

And Hamilton! That kid is going to be good. Very impressed with Bates, and I'm really glad to see him on the field.

His Facebook says he was born in 1989.

Don't forget about Wallace Franklin. They are slowly working him into the offense, and I think once everything clicks for him we will see a fast receiving corps.
